About Me

Natasha Kharbanda, Licensed Clinical Social Worker #71180

Certified Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist, Gottman Therapist

Born and raised in India, I had completed my undergraduate education and worked there for a short while before coming to the US in 2006 to pursue a Masters in Social Work from San Jose State University. This unique background has provided me with a better appreciation and understanding of the cultural sensitivities present in this multicultural environment here in the Bay Area. Since 2008, I have worked with a diverse clientele including low-income individuals, seniors, victims of domestic violence, and people with varying degrees of mental illnesses. I also currently work in the medical industry to help patients and their families resolve crisis situations.

I am non-judgemental in my approach and believe that we are all just people who trying to do the best we can, and that every person is unique. Therefore, I utilize the treatment techniques that suit the individual and situation. We will work together to identify the improvements the client wishes to make in his or her life, and the steps required to achieve them. I favor evidenced-based therapy such as cognitive, behavioral, solution-focused, and mindfulness. I have a very empathetic and compassionate approach towards my clients, and I believe in meeting them where they are in this journey towards self-enlightenment.
